Topics and Questions
Why did you create Z-Triton?
We wanted to offer the most sustainable and fun way to travel over both land and water. There is so much beauty on this planet – it needs to be re-discovered.
Are there solar panels?
Yes, there are integrated solar panels on the roof. They provide additional energy to charge the batteries but it’s not sufficient and you’ll still require to plug and charge.
Are parts 3D-printed?
Yes, some of the parts are 3D printed with PRO PLA (durable bioplastic).
Can I lock it?
Yes, of course. All hatches are lockable and it’s possible to switch off the power while you’re not using the vehicle.
How about safety?
Open face bike helmets and life jackets are necessary to operate it. We take safety very seriously.

It takes about 5 minutes. Check out this VIDEO

What happens if the battery runs out?
You can still pedal with your own power and use oars to get to the nearest 220V socket.
What are the product dimensions?
L = 3.9 m / W = 1.45 m / H = 1.72 m
What is the range?
50+ km overland and 20+ km on water (continuous riding)
What’s the weight?
Depends on the battery pack but it’s slightly over 200 kg without passengers and luggage.
What problem does Z-Triton solve?
It’s a cycle touring upgrade – lots of space for luggage, no stuffy tents – real tiny house, can cross the water. It offers a unique outdoor recreation experience. Works well in flood-affected areas and places with insufficient infrastructure, e.g. bridges.
What type of vehicle is Z-Triton?
It’s a three-wheel electric moped (L2e in Europe) and a small boat.
What is the max weight Z-Triton can carry?

Purchase & Delivery
Can I test it?
Sure. We’re planning test rentals / public demos. If COVID-19 allows we’ll be doing it late this summer of 2021. Stay tuned.
Do you offer rentals?
We will, as soon as possible. Rentals will be our focus. We’re aiming to attract B2B customers – outdoor equipment rental companies, eco-resorts, campsites, etc., so they could do the actual rentals so we can focus on product and manufacturing.
Do you sell 3D plans?
Not yet but we will, eventually. We plan to develop a slightly simplified DIY version (open source) that people can build almost anywhere. Most likely this will take a few years but our vision is to build a makers community around the product and create a positive impact.
How can I become a distributor?
Drop us an e-mail. We’re open to collaborating but we’re primarily planning to sell directly from this website.
How long it will take to receive Z-Triton after reservation?
Depends on where you’re based. We’ll start with deliveries to Europe pre-orders first even though you might be in front of the queue. This is purely to run initial tests on product quality and gain customer feedback locally before we ship it out overseas. We will contact you as soon as we’re ready for the manufacturing of your particular unit.
What about servicing?
Initially, we’ll be providing annual checks and servicing from where we’re based – Latvia. This will suffice for the Baltics and Northern Europe but we’ll be expanding as fast as possible.
What will be the Z-Triton price?
The basic self-assembly / self-certifying units will start from 10,500 EUR. A fully assembled and certified unit will cost around 12,000 EUR. This is all subject to changes. We’re working on the manufacturing model and our Bill Of Materials. We intend to offer this product of a very good quality (mostly made in the EU) but affordable to many.
What's the warranty?
We’ll be adjusting this but as a minimum – 2 years.
When will you start to deliver the product?
Europe – late 2021 or early 2022, North America - 2023
Will you be shipping worldwide?
Yes, that is the plan certainly although we will start with Europe first. The intention is to test the product in relative proximity before it gets shipped overseas.
Boat & House modes
Are there interior lights?
Yes, main lights, reading lights, small storage units, USB charging, etc.
Can I cook inside?
Yes, you can with considerable care though. It’s a small space but there is an extractor fan in one of the chimneys. There is also a foldup table inside the cabin so two people can sit facing each other with a tiny camping table in the middle.
Can I row the boat?
Yes, you can. Folding oars are included and you can use them if you wish or you are left with no choice in case of a flat battery.
Can I use it in the sea/ocean?
Nope, freshwater (inland lakes and rivers) only. The boat is not designed to tackle ocean waves and some of the parts are not made to withstand constant salty water.
Can it be heated?
Yes, we’re working on options. It will not be included in the basic spec but there will be an option for heating as well as cooling for hotter climates.
How big is the motor?
Perform you have an anchor?
Yes, a small folding anchor is included in the cabin.
Is there a space for luggage?
Yes, plenty. Using a couple of rucksacks is advised but there is space for more. It will limit the interior space and might affect your comfort while sleeping but it’s up to you how you use the given space.
What are the dimensions of the sleeping area?
W = 1 m / L = 2 m
What is the range?
4 hours / 20 km if used continuously.
What’s the max speed?
About 5 km/h. We’re still testing, working on the speed/boat motor.
Can I go off-road with it?
Sure, there is suspension, off-road tires but you have to remember it weighs 200+ kg. You might need a winch for extra reassurance and fun.
Can I go on the highway?
Most likely not. It classifies as a three-wheel electric moped (L2e in Europe). Be aware of the traffic signs and allowed transport modes.
Can I ride on designated bicycle paths?
No, as a three-wheel electric moped you can’t. Z-Triton is too wide anyways. Best are small and quiet roads, streets, alleyways, small forest roads, etc.
Do I need a driver's licence?
No, you just need to be at least 16 years of age.
Does it recharge as you ride?
Solar panels charge the batteries while you ride but it’s insufficient to run continuously so you’ll have to plug and charge now and then. There is no regen in the bike motor as you need to be able to freewheel.
How big is the bike motor?
Is it road legal?
Yes, it classifies as a three-wheel electric moped (L2e in Europe) and a small boat.
What is the range?
What’s the speed?
25 km/h max.
Where can I park Z-Triton?
Dimensions are similar to a small car. Any car parking will do but technically as a moped, you should be able to get away by parking on sidewalks too.
